Canarian painter Conrado Díaz Ruiz exhibits at the MEAM

The outstanding Canarian painter Conrado Díaz Ruiz is currently exhibiting his work at the MEAM, with the painting ‘Abstraction in the gaze’, with mixed technique and dimensions of 140 x 200 cm.

Also in this exhibition you can see his work ‘The gaze’, made with the technique of oil and acrylic on canvas and dimensions of 200 x 180 cm.

Conrado Díaz has to his credit more than a hundred group exhibitions and fifteen individual exhibitions, as well as numerous first prizes, second prizes, second prizes and honorable mentions.

The Contemporary Figurative Art collection is the result of the international competitions held by the Foundation for the Arts and Artists, and also the result of the museum’s ongoing relationship with artists from around the world. It is the museum’s own collection of works by living artists that constitutes the main asset of the MEAM.

True to its principles, it includes works of painting and sculpture made with all kinds of materials and techniques: oils, watercolours, pastels, etc., on canvas, board and any other support. And in sculpture, works of marble, bronze, paper, cardboard, wood, polyester resins, terracotta, etc.

The Contemporary Figurative Art exhibition is displayed in the time intervals between temporary exhibitions. The exhibition is made up of a variable selection from the 21st Century Contemporary Art Collection belonging to the MEAM museum collection.

It is made up of nearly a thousand works by more than 300 artists from countries on five continents, in a collection that is fed with each call for entries from the MEAM competitions. Without a doubt, one of the most prestigious collections of figurative art in the world today, both for the quality of the work presented and for the diversity of its authors.

The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) opened its doors on June 8, 2011 in the Ribera district of the city of Barcelona, ​​very close to the Picasso Museum, becoming the first museum of contemporary figurative art in Spain. Its director is the Barcelona architect José Manuel Infiesta.
