Celestino Mesa, beyond pigments and formats

Celestino Mesa (1971, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) is a prominent Canarian artist known for his versatility and his ability to merge various artistic disciplines.

After training in different areas of BBAA and having toured Europe working in various artistic activities, he returned to the Canary Islands. For several years he worked for various companies on the islands, developing functions in the creative artistic direction of entertainment shows. In 1999 he resumed his studies in graphic design in the digital environment, video editing and programming, obtaining the title of technician in graphic design, certified technician in video and multimedia editor in 2004.

In recent years he has trained as an audiovisual technician and producer, photography technician, camera operator, editor and colorist in audiovisual post-production.

Currently he combines the role of plastic artist specializing in portraiture with that of designer, multimedia editor and final artist for audiovisual productions. His artistic studio is located in Tenerife and every year he presents his work in various galleries.

His artistic style is varied and he follows several lines of work, knowledgeable in all techniques, going from acrylics where he experiments with interesting creations, to watercolor and oil painting where he creates compositions of large size and luminous splendor, which have led him to participate in numerous national and international competitions, as well as his work as a portraitist with recognized merits, painting several commissions for the Spanish Royal House and the United Arab Emirates.

Art critics endorse his creative artistic work in which art critic and journalist Don Joaquín Castro San Luis says: “Celestino Mesa is one of the painters who brings the viewer closer to contemplating his well-made works. Surprises are never lacking in his samples. We have seen it with all kinds of topics. Precisely, the exhibition The windows of memory, body, mind and space is one of them. Different, with his own personality and his Art of him.”

His paintings are in numerous private collections in Spain, England, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Norway, France, Italy, Venezuela, Arabia, etc.
